Worldwide Shipping of Original Artworks
David Pher ships original artworks from Germany to collectors worldwide. Every artwork is carefully prepared for transport and shipped fully insured.
The appropriate shipping method depends on the size, material, surface and construction of the artwork as well as its destination.
Professional fine art handling and international art logistics are coordinated in cooperation with the studio's trusted logistics partner, Oliver Schütz Fineart Spedition.
International Shipping
For international destinations, larger original paintings on canvas are generally professionally removed from their wooden stretcher frame and shipped rolled in a protective tube.
The removal and preparation of the canvas is carried out by professional art handlers. Shipping a suitable canvas rolled in a tube is a safe and efficient method for transporting large original paintings internationally.
After delivery, the canvas can be professionally stretched onto a new wooden stretcher frame by a local framer.
Stretched and Non Rollable Artworks
Some original artworks cannot be rolled due to their material, surface, construction or artistic technique. These works remain on their stretcher frame and require individual fine art shipping arrangements.
International transport of these artworks is coordinated with Oliver Schütz Fineart Spedition. Where required, a custom wooden transport crate is built specifically for the artwork.
Depending on the artwork and destination, transportation may include professional fine art handling, custom crating, export documentation and air freight. All shipments are appropriately insured for transport.
Shipping within Germany
Within Germany, original paintings can generally be transported stretched and ready to hang.
Large, delicate or heavily textured artworks may require specialist handling or individual transport arrangements. The studio coordinates the appropriate solution for each artwork.
Shipping Costs
For original artworks that can be shipped rolled in a protective tube, standard worldwide shipping is included in the listed artwork price unless otherwise stated.
Artworks requiring a custom wooden crate, specialist fine art transport, air freight or other individual shipping arrangements may incur additional shipping costs.
Any additional shipping costs will always be communicated before the purchase is completed.
Preparation and Delivery Times
Preparation and delivery times for original artworks vary depending on the artwork, destination, transport requirements and availability of the professional art handlers involved.
Once payment has been received, the David Pher studio immediately coordinates all necessary steps to prepare and dispatch the artwork as efficiently as possible.
For international rolled shipments, larger canvases generally need to be professionally removed from their stretcher frame and prepared for transport. The timing of this process therefore also depends on the availability of the professional art handlers.
For stretched or non rollable artworks, additional preparation may be required, including the construction of a custom wooden transport crate and the coordination of specialist transport or air freight.
Carrier schedules, customs procedures, local import regulations and the destination country can also affect delivery times.
As a general guideline, most original artworks are prepared and delivered within approximately 1 to 3 weeks after payment. Exact preparation and delivery dates cannot be guaranteed.
Tracking and relevant shipment information are provided once the artwork has been dispatched.
Insurance and Transport Damage
Original artworks are shipped fully insured for transport.
The studio coordinates the appropriate transport and insurance arrangements according to the artwork, its value, destination and shipping method.
Collectors should inspect the shipment and packaging upon arrival whenever possible.
If an artwork or its packaging shows signs of transport damage, please photograph the condition and contact the David Pher studio immediately. Please retain the artwork and all original packaging until the matter has been resolved.
Customs, Import Duties and Taxes
For deliveries outside the European Union, customs duties, import VAT, local taxes or other import charges may apply.
These charges are determined by the authorities of the destination country and are the responsibility of the recipient unless expressly agreed otherwise.
Where required, the studio and its professional logistics partner coordinate the necessary export documentation. Customs clearance and local import procedures may affect the final delivery time.
Delivery Information
The buyer is responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address, contact information and any information reasonably required for transportation or customs clearance.
For international shipments, the carrier, logistics partner or customs authorities may contact the recipient directly if additional information is required.
Additional costs resulting from incorrect or incomplete delivery information, unsuccessful delivery attempts, refusal to accept a shipment or failure to provide information required for customs clearance may be charged to the recipient where legally permitted.
