Mifune draws its name from the legendary Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune — a figure of raw intensity, controlled chaos, and undeniable presence. The canvas mirrors exactly that: a vast, cream-toned field interrupted by bursts of color that feel both accidental and deeply intentional. Pink bleeds into gray, orange explodes against violet, teal anchors the upper right like a held breath before the storm.

At 160 × 140 cm, the work demands space — and gives it back tenfold. The layering of oil, acrylic, and coal creates a surface that shifts with the light, revealing new marks and tensions the longer you look. There is violence here, but also tenderness. Movement, but also stillness.

Like Mifune himself, the painting refuses to be contained.
