Isle of Lies reflects on a time in which the boundaries between truth, fiction and convenience have become increasingly fragile. Lies are no longer necessarily hidden. They are repeated, accepted and, at times, rewarded. Values lose their certainty when those in positions of influence appear free to redefine them.
Yet the work is not only about those who lie. It is equally about our willingness to believe. Truth can be uncomfortable, while a convincing lie may offer reassurance, belonging or an easier version of reality.
Fragments of language, symbols and vivid colour emerge and disappear across the canvas, creating a landscape of conflicting signals. At its centre lies a simple question: Do we still want the truth when the lie is easier to live with?
